Adeiso: NPP issues statement concerning Akuffo Addo's 88 Hospitals

Our attention has been drawn to a Facebook post purported to have been published by one Nana Owusu Sakyi a self acclaimed HOT fm journalist and subsequently anchored by Tru fm in their afternoon news bulletin about a clash between some chiefs and political leaders in Upper West Akim over the location of the share of the agenda 88 district hospitals being spearheaded by the NPP government.

It should be established unequivocally clear that there's nothing of that sort. Therefore the post or publication, press conference or the news item, swiftly, should be discarded and treated with the contempt it deserves.

One can easily deduce from the said post that its only objective is to cause disaffection between the people of Asikasu - Mepom and the New Patriotic Party. We urge all and sundry not to buy into such propaganda most especially when we are drawing nearer to the 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls.

As a party we condemn in no uncertain terms this act of political tribalism and ethnocentrism. Elections is about propagating what you have been able to do and what you intend doing when given the nod so it is very disappointing for some political actors to rather hold on to such straws of falsehoods for their political survival.

Facts.

It will be recalled that the President during his 8th address on Covid-19 and its related matters announced the beginning of the construction of 88 hospitals across the country in Districts that do not have a District hospital of which Upper West Akim District is of no exception.

1: Osabarima Asare Oduro, the paramount chief of Adeiso and the head  of Adeiso Traditional Council received a letter from the Presidency to find a land nearer to the Adeiso main clinic of about 15 acres, that can be used for the District Hospital Project since the land available at the current Health Center is only about 5 acres.

2: It is during this search that the council located a parcel of land situated between Adeiso and Obeng Yaw (about 3 minute drive from Adeiso) and the Chief of Obeng Yaw willingly released the said land without demanding a dime.

3. The DCE, NPP chairman and Frederick Adom Obeng have never been part of the process until the proposed site plan was presented to the DCE through Osabarima Asare Oduro I for onward submission to The Presidency yesterday morning.

4. The Chief of Adeiso is superior to that of Asikasu so it is inappropriate for the latter to accuse his superior wrongly. We respectfully urge Asikasu Chief to seek redress from his superior than to accuse wrongly.

5. There has also been a wrongful allegations of bribery just to tarnish the hard earned reputations of some individuals. In as much as we we treat that allegation as a blatant fallacy, We also beseech the appropriate authorities to take up the matter so we can get to the intoto of it.

6. This act by the chief of Asikasu and his cronies is somehow confirming the rumors that He took money from Mahama during the latter's last visit to the Constituency at Salas Mensah's house just to champion such unworthy courses. He should atleast, for once, respect the noble and royal office he is occupying.

CONCLUSION

The NPP party has equitable love for the good people of Upper West Akim irrespective of one's location, religion, tribe or political interest. No amount of false allegations, wrong accusations, incitements, etc can change the writings on the wall.

  1. A good one there. This arcaic politics of inciting one group of people against the other by the NDC and their non- performing MP must stop.

Is the NDC telling us that the people of Adeiso - (the District capital) , Obeng Yaw and its environs are not humans just as the people of Asikasu and Mepom?
