The NPP government, however, restored the allowances after winning the 2016 polls. Albert Morake, a South African man that was sentenced to 1,500 years in prison- see why

Image
Johannesburg - Albert Justice Morake would rape his targets - often in front of their helpless, bound partners - and then give them advice on how not to be raped again. Despite being forensically linked to most of his 29 rapes and found guilty of 144 serious criminal charges, he denies any wrongdoing. It was this arrogance and lack of remorse that forced the hand of Judge Rean Strydom, who sentenced Morake on Wednesday in the high court in Joburg sitting at Palm Ridge to more than 1 500 years in prison. While he will serve only a life sentence of 25 years before he can apply for parole, there was a cutting message from the soft-spoken judge. Morake’s rape and kidnapping spree began in 2007 and continued for five years. He would take women hostage at gunpoint, sometimes while they were with their partners, who would be bound and forced to watch. During some of the about 30 rape incidents, he would allow an accomplice to join in and violate his targets. In one incident

Uncle Ebo recalls how his own Christian brother got him dismissed from work in 1991

Image
THE DAY I WAS DISMISSED There is a day in September that I will never forget. It began like any normal day. I did not wake up with any premonition that something terrible was about to happen to me. It began as a beautiful day and I had no idea that by the end of that day, my life, as I knew it, would be turned upside down, inside out and changed forever. I was the head of Marketing and Sales for a company that was a leader in its sector. I had what I thought was a great relationship with my boss, the CEO of the company. He was a very serious-minded and hardworking person and I admired and respected him deeply. I had a great relationship with my staff and morale in the department was very high. Sales were very good in a time when other companies were complaining and our customer service was improving by the day. And I was feeling very good about my work because I had received letters of commendation from my boss and the board of directors on my performance. I got to the office as usual

Donald Trump calls Former Secretary of Defense a "Mad dog"

Image
Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis made a comment about Trump and his double standards way of ruling following the death of George Floyd. He made an insults speech about Trump's hair and thereof ...some of his comment is quoted  "We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children." His pointed remarks follow more than a week of nationwide protests across the country calling for justice for Floyd, a black man who was killed last week by a white police officer in Minneapolis. In response, Trump earlier this week declared himself "your president of law and order" and vowed to return order to American stree

Five reasons why you have to Date Ewe girl

Image
Women fear their friends and family offering some weird mix of support and compassion when telling them they proposed. Which is crazy, because guess what? They didn’t ask for your shoulder to cry on. We fear that we look weak and desperate — that our non commital gents were willing to let the years ride out so far that marriage would never be on the table. But guess what? The only difference between a man and a woman proposing is the genitals of the person on one knee (if they even take tradition that farPeople find tradition romantic. Think about Thanksgiving: we’re taught to get together with family and sip wine and eat lavish meals… all without so much as a thought toward what precipitated the celebration of Thanksgiving (ahem, slaughter and colonization, that is). But people are comforted and find meaning (or create new meaning) through tradition. And that’s OK. That’s a good thing. It keeps the earth rotating and people sane. Arguably, the whole Ghana ewe girls are beauti

Adeiso: NPP issues statement concerning Akuffo Addo's 88 Hospitals

Image
Our attention has been drawn to a Facebook post purported to have been published by one Nana Owusu Sakyi a self acclaimed HOT fm journalist and subsequently anchored by Tru fm in their afternoon news bulletin about a clash between some chiefs and political leaders in Upper West Akim over the location of the share of the agenda 88 district hospitals being spearheaded by the NPP government. It should be established unequivocally clear that there's nothing of that sort. Therefore the post or publication, press conference or the news item, swiftly, should be discarded and treated with the contempt it deserves. One can easily deduce from the said post that its only objective is to cause disaffection between the people of Asikasu - Mepom and the New Patriotic Party. We urge all and sundry not to buy into such propaganda most especially when we are drawing nearer to the 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls. As a party we condemn in no uncertain terms this act of political tr

Many ex-MPs wallowing in poverty – Effah-Darteh

Image
Former Member of Parliament for Berekum, Captain Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey (retd), has noted that a lot of former Members of Parliament are wallowing in abject poverty after they left parliament. He said life at the moment is unbearable for some of the former MPs because they did not have a trade of their own before entering parliament. He told Alfred Ocansey on the Sunrise Show on 3FM 92.7 that being a lawmaker in Ghana is not lucrative as many perceive it to be. “The way I see them [ex-MPs] in town is not good especially those who are not professionals. “If you go to parliament as a teacher for eight years or for four years, you don’t step in the classroom and you are relying only on your salary as an MP, if the president makes you a minister or deputy minister, maybe you will get some small allowances but when all these are cut off you have a problem,” he said.
